“Dallas is a big strong kid,” said Matvichuk of the young defenseman, “he uses his size and strength to his advantage, and is going to be a very physical player for us this season that will also benefit our penalty kill.  I’ve worked with Dallas before, and look forward to having him on the roster again.”

The votes are in!  The Mavs have compiled a list of the Top 10 Missouri Mavericks Players of All-Time with the help of THE BEST FANS in the Central Hockey League who voted in the offiical poll between July 1st and July 11th!  The players named to the Top 10 list will be commemorated on collectable cards to be given away at select Missouri Mavericks home games during the 2014-15 season.

The results of the Missouri Mavericks Top 10 Vote are brought to you by The Examiner, which will publish the results of the official poll one player at a time, until all Top 10 Mavs Players are revealed, beginning on Tuesday, July 15th.

"It's appropriate that veteran forward Sebastien Thinel would kick off the Missouri Mavericks' top 10 all-time team celebration, as no player has made an impact like the former Central Hockey League scoring champion and MVP.

When you look at Sebby's accomplishments, then realize what an important part of the community he and his family have become over the last three years, it shows what a special individual he is," team President Brent Thiessen said of the team captain who ranks second all-time in CHL history in assists and third in scoring..."

"When Simon Watson joined a first-year Central Hockey League team called the Missouri Mavericks back in the fall of 2009, he had no idea what type of an impact the move would have on his life.

'I still call this area home,' said Watson, the 2010-11 CHL Man of the Year and the second player to be announced on the Mavericks' all-time top 10 team behind Sebastien Thinel. 'When I came to Independence, I had no idea what to expect. I never thought this team and this community would make such an impact on my life, but it has. And I am so happy about the way things turned out..."

"For the past three seasons, John-Scott Dickson has rolled up his sleeves, packed his lunch pail and gone to work for the Missouri Mavericks.

Sure, he's scored 68 goals and added 74 assists through his career, but it's the little things this blue-collar player does that makes him so special to a team that has made the playoffs each year of its existence..."

"Before the Missouri Mavericks were one of the elite teams in the Central Hockey League, they featured a revolving-door approach to players who would come and go without having the time to grab a cup of coffee.

That all changed when the Mavericks signed former NHL draft pick and rock-solid clubhouse leader Ryan Jardine, who is the newest member of the all-time top 10 team, as voted on by Missouri Mavericks fans."

"If you’re a member of the Missouri Mavericks Orange Army and someone mentions “the shot heard ’round the world,” you know that person is not making a reference to the April 19, 1775, volley that set the stage for the battle for independence and the beginning of the Revolutionary War.

No, this shot took place on April 5, 2013, when Missouri Mavericks enforcer Colt King delivered the new “shot heard ’round the CHL world,” as he sent Rapid City’s Garrett Gruenke flying into the cheap seats at the Independence Events Center with a forearm to the chest that set the stage for a new battle for Independence."

"David Simoes was voted by his Central Hockey League peers as the league's toughest player in both years he starred for the Missouri Mavericks.

The gritty defenseman was a finalist for the CHL Man of the Year, and he made an impact in the locker room and on the ice that will never be forgotten by his teammates and the Orange Army."

“Pszenyczny is a proven player that the opposition’s top skaters hate to play against,” said Richard Matvichuk, Missouri Mavericks Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, “it’s a real bonus to have him back in the locker room and I look forward to using him as a shut-down defenseman and agitator on the ice.”
