MAVERICKS COMPLETE 2009-10 TRADES
INDEPENDENCE, Missouri – Missouri Mavericks Head Coach Scott Hillman announced today the Central Hockey League (CHL) team has completed all of the trades from the 2009-10 season. Missouri has acquired defensemen Matt Hanson and Andrew Winnik from the Arizona Sundogs and defenseman Jim Henkemeyer from the Tulsa Oilers. The Mavericks have also dealt forward Jeff MacDermid to the Wichita Thunder to finalize a deal that brought Andrew Davis to the Mavericks.
Hanson, Henkemeyer and Winnik are now on the Mavericks’ protected list; however the team still must sign all three players for the 2010-11 season. Missouri will announce the first three player signings for the 2010-11 season on Friday, May 15 at a press conference at Independence Events Center at 11:30 a.m. All media and fans are invited to attend the event.
Hanson, 27 (12/29/82), is entering his fifth season in the CHL. The 5-foot-11, 196-pound defenseman has accumulated 58 points (21-37=58) in 176 games in his pro career.
Henkemeyer, 25 (2/10/85), has played three seasons professionally including his first two seasons with the Dayton Bombers of the ECHL. The St. Cloud, Minnesota native has played 113 games pro with 37 points (13-24=37) and 70 penalty minutes.
Winnik, 27 (12/14/82), played his first season in the CHL last season and has played a total of four seasons professionally. The 6-foot-4, 224-pound defenseman has played 132 games with 35 points (7-28=35) and 131 penalty minutes.
