MAVERICKS TO HOST FUNDRAISER FOR RYAN CHRISTIAN
Forward Jeff Christian’s daughter undergoing cancer treatment
INDEPENDENCE, Missouri – The Missouri Mavericks will host a fundraiser at their game on Saturday, March 13 for the daughter of Mavericks’ forward Jeff Christian. Ryan Christian has been diagnosed with Pediatric Adrenalcortical Carcinoma, a rare disease that affects one in a million, and the Mavericks are hoping to raise funds through the support of their fans.
During the pre-game warm-ups, Mavericks players will wear special jerseys that bear Jeff Christian’s number 72. During the game, those jerseys will be available for sale in a silent auction. Many other CHL, AHL, NHL and other Kansas City professional teams and organizations have also donated items for the silent auction.
In addition to the auction items, the Mavericks will sell pink t-shirts and bracelets, and fans will also have the opportunity to donate monetarily. All proceeds will go directly to aid the Christian family and their mounting medical expenses.
Fans attending the game are encouraged to wear pink as it is Ryan’s favorite color.
For those who are unable to attend the game but would like to donate, please make checks payable to “The Ryan Christian Love Fund.”
Fans can send donations to: Missouri Mavericks 19100 E. Valley View Parkway Independence, MO 64055
