Dickson’s hat trick stymies Sundogs late rally

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri – John-Scott Dickson scored his second hat trick of the season as the Missouri Mavericks defeated the Arizona Sundogs by a score of 4-3, Friday night at Independence Events Center. Dickson netted his 19th, 20th and 21st goals of the 2011-12 CHL campaign en route to the Mavs 23rd victory this season. The game was also the third consecutive sellout crowd drawn by the Mavericks and 10th overall this season.

COCCIMIGLIO NAMED PLAYER OF THE MONTH

MAVERICKS’ FORWARD BRANDON COCCIMIGLIO NAMED CHL PLAYER OF THE MONTH

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri – The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced Thursday Missouri forward Brandon Coccimiglio has been named the Sher-Wood Central Hockey League Player of the Month for January 2012. Coccimiglio will receive a Sher-Wood/CHL logoed watch courtesy of Sher-Wood and the CHL to recognize his accomplishment.

Coccimiglio, 24, was a key contributor and one of the main catalysts for the Mavericks’ surge in the month of January helping his team to an 8-3-1 record. The Burlington, Ontario native scored eight goals with 10 assists along with a +5 plus/minus rating in 12 games during the month of January.

Missouri routed by Mallards in season series finale

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri – The Missouri Mavericks lost to the Quad City Mallards by a score of 8-3 Saturday night at Independence Events Center in the final regular game between the two teams this season. The Mallards scored three goals in the second and third periods to rout the Mavericks in their worst home loss in over two years. Patrick Schafer, Ed McGrane and Brandon Coccimiglio were the lone Mavs to score in the loss.

MAVS LOSE TO QUAD CITY IN THE SHOOTOUT, 5-4

Missouri still unbeaten in regulation in nine straight home games

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri – The Missouri Mavericks lost their first home game in eight games, Friday night at Independence Events Center, losing 5-4 to the Quad City Mallards in the shootout. The Mallards scored two goals in the final 10 minutes of regulation and beat the Mavs 2-0 in the shootout. Andrew Favot had two assists for the Mavericks and Ed McGrane had a goal and an assist for Missouri. The Mavs remain unbeaten in regulation at home in their last nine games, for an 8-0-1 record.
